At the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, Full-time MBA students build connections with their Executive Mentor that go beyond the classroom. Kal Subramanian, a mentor within the Executive Connections program, built relationships with his mentees that involved getting to know their families, struggles in life and helping them through visa processes. Even though he had a significant cultural connection with his students, he also encouraged them to learn from his peers with different cultural backgrounds. Subramanian believes learning how to build connections and working well with people will serve them much better in their career than being correct all the time.
