The SMU International Advisory Councils (IAC) was formed to strengthen ties between SMU and key Southeast Asian markets, as well as China and Hong Kong — bringing together leaders from government, academia and business to deepen collaboration across the region. Over time, SMU IAC has grown into a dynamic platform that connects overseas alumni, international students and corporate partners, creating purposeful opportunities for dialogue, partnership and shared progress. By 2026, with the launch of the Council in India, SMU IAC will be present in eight countries — marking an important milestone in our expanding regional footprint and reaffirming our commitment to meaningful engagement. As we continue to grow, our focus remains clear: to advance SMU’s mission, strengthen our impact across Asia, and build sustainable futures for Asia and beyond. #SMUIAC
