Before coming to GW, Sodaba Rahmaty, MBA ’26, worked for the United Nations in Afghanistan. But after the Taliban’s return to power, the country changed rapidly, and women and girls faced sweeping restrictions on education. That reality pushed her to work even harder toward her goals. After arriving in D.C., Rahmaty set her sights on continuing her education and seized the opportunities available through GW Business, from experiential courses to projects focused on real-world business challenges. She even co-founded a 501(c) nonprofit with a GW visiting scholar to support research that helps improve access for underserved communities.
