UCLA Anderson convened its 12th annual Velocity Women’s Leadership Summit under the theme “Empower” to celebrate female leaders’ progress in advancing professional opportunities for women.

Keynote speakers included Anne Walsh, chief investment officer at Guggenheim Partners Investment Management, who took the stage with her daughter Kat Friese (’24), VP of communications for Anderson’s Women’s Business Connection, for a conversation about the courage not to take no for an answer. New York Times bestselling author and entrepreneur Candace Nelson told the empowering story of founding Sprinkles and Pizzana when she was surrounded by people warning her not to try. And Lauren Neustadter, president of film and television at Hello Sunshine, recounted how some of her toughest bosses of the past gave her the best advice.
