Hanneke Smits, CEO of BNY Mellon Investment Management is interviewed by Dr David Chambers, Reader in Finance and Academic Director of the Centre for Endowment Asset Management (CEAM), on the impact the COVID crisis is having on her company and the broader financial services sector. Hanneke moves on to talk about the importance of widening the gender and diversity representation within the financial services sector and how this can be achieved. She looks back at her decision to study for an MBA at a time of transition in her career, and how this has influenced her life and career trajectory, whilst sharing advice for fellow business professionals who may be facing a similar crossroads as we begin to emerge from the pandemic.
