Rethinking Health Systems Strengthening: Learning from Public Health Practice in the Global South
9 July 2026, London (UCL Global Business School for Health), Hybrid. Organiser: Madhurima Nundy An afternoon in conversation with Dr T. Sundararaman, examining how health systems strengthening must evolve in an era of increasing complexity and change. The conversation centred on insights from his recent book, The Science and Practice of Public Health: Perspectives from the Developing World, and offered a powerful reframing of what health systems strengthening should look like today. Drawing on decades of leadership in public health, policy, and implementation, this dialogue examined the ideas, institutions, and interdisciplinary approaches needed to build resilient, equitable, and learning health systems in the Global South. This is another conversation in our Transforming Health Systems: Conversations that Matter series.
