Marshall Minds Ep. 4: “The Evaluation of Founder Failure and Success by Hiring Firms.”
In a field experiment, Melody Chang, assistant professor of Management and Organization, measured the likelihood of receiving a job interview for three different profiles: a founder of a successful venture, founder of a failed venture, and a non-founder with identical education, work experience, and skills. Recruiters valued fit and commitment more highly than a founder’s innovative capabilities.  Link to the full paper published in Organization Science:  https://pubsonline.informs.org/doi/full/10.1287/orsc.2022.1592
