Study: Investors lose, insiders win when IPOs involve analysts

Michael Dambra, PhD, assistant professor of accounting in the University at Buffalo School of Management discusses his research that found that when equity analysts are more involved in a firm’s initial public offering (IPO), investors who purchase stock based on these analysts’ reports lose more than three percent of their investment.
