During their time in South Africa, the students from #HECUnited met Eric Pignot, HEC alumni, CEO and Co-founder of Enko Education, a Panafrican group of schools that promote an access to quality education for all.

Enko Education's mission is clear – to provide a new solution for private, affordable schooling, focusing on preparing children for a global journey rather than just local universities. Eric recognized the need for an international educational approach in Sub-Saharan Africa, where the youth population is vast.

He dives into the challenges encountered in establishing schools in politically volatile regions, such as Mali and Burkina Faso, and sheds light on how Enko Education collaborated with the International Baccalaureate (IB) to contribute to a more peaceful world through education.

Eric discusses the educational landscape in Sub-Saharan Africa, highlighting the shortage of secondary schools and the need for a link between primary and tertiary education. Challenges like teacher training, funding, and infrastructure are addressed as crucial factors in shaping the continent's educational future.

Despite media portrayals, Eric emphasizes that the reality on the ground is often different, with parents seeking quality education for their children regardless of political challenges.
